Warkworth Dental Practice was established in 1980 and has grown to be one of the prominent providers of dental services in North Auckland. The current principal within this practice is John Boesley BDS & BSc. He is further assisted by the associates below:

We recognize the importance of staff training and rely largely on feedback from staff and patients to maintain quality control. We feel that an important aspect of professional conduct is to pass on our knowledge to the patient in a courteous manner. We aim to protect the health and safety of patients and staff alike.

We believe that emergency treatment should be available for all of our patients. Our professional and support staff recognize the need for pain relief and will endeavour to place patients with dentists as urgency dictates.

PATIENT RELATIONS

Patient relations are of the utmost importance. Our aim is to treat patients in a relaxed and friendly environment and to make dentistry as non-threatening as possible.

We know how important it is to keep to time and if a dentist is not keeping to time we advise any waiting patients of the delay. If a patient cannot see their chosen dentist we suggest another dentist who may be able to help.

All patients of our practice who are in acute pain are seen by the dentist. If there are no available appointment times they are asked to come into the surgery and to wait for a dentist to see them as soon as one is free.

Any brochures and pamphlets that may help patients understand treatment better may be given and if we need to refer patients to a specialist we explain why this is necessary.

MANAGING OUR QUALITY

Our quality philosophy will be reviewed at each management meeting. These are held monthly. Any incidents, complaints, and policy changes or reviews are discussed fully. Areas where improvements can be made or where the level of standard of care has not been met will be documented and addressed. At these meetings, any new risks and hazards are discussed and documented. Being a large practice we are able to maintain the commitment to professional standards with continuing education and peer review within the practice. All dentists within the practice are expected to attend external continuing education courses up to and above the level required by the NZ Dental Association and the NZ dental council.
